Fall is here and Vero Wine School is back in session! From the running of the bulls to the vineyards of Rioja to the famed El Bulli, Spain is the land of gastronomy, wine and adventure. Join us as we take a viticultural tour of this amazing country. Reds from Priorat, sparkling from Cava, whites from Rias Baixas and sherry from Jerez. What could be better than a wine tasting tour of Spain? How about perfectly paired small bites showcasing traditional and modern Spanish cuisine! This class will cover all of the major and minor wine growing regions as well as viticultural history and winemaking styles. Space is limited, so don’t miss out.

Many of us think of the South African wine industry as being young in comparison to France or Spain, but its history actually dates back to 1659. Originally known for their sweet wine and large production cooperative wineries,now much effort has been placed on producing quality wines from international varietals that showcase this country’s unique geography. Just as diverse as the land, people and wine is the traditional fare! This class will focus on the major wine growing regions of this beautiful country. While learning we will taste a range of sparkling, white, rose and red wines paired with traditional cuisine. Reserve your spot today as this event will fill quickly and please leave your vuvuzelas at home.

A favorite of chefs, sommeliers and wine lovers everywhere, Pinot Noir is one of the wine world’s most versatile grapes. Tasting notes describing ripe Bing cherry, rosemary, pomegranate, cinnamon and nutmeg can start your salivary glands in motion. More amazing than our love of this grape is the diversity of regions in which it is grown and the gamut of flavors and aromas it can produce. This class will cover the history of the grape, regions of production, food pairing, styles produced and of course, a tasting of Pinots from around the world with small bites to match. Come smell and taste all this amazing grape has to offer!

One of the famed original Bordeaux varietals, Cabernet Sauvignon has made its way to many shores in the arms of settlers. From the bold, angular expressions of the Napa Valley to the more refined and elegant French versions, Cabernet Sauvignon speaks of the place where it is grown and the people who make it. We will focus on the history of the grape, the wine regions where it is grown, styles produced, winemaking techniques, blends incorporating the grape and what foods work best with each style. Come join us for what for many spurred their love affair with wine! We will taste a wide range of Cabs including blends and various small bites sure to tantalize your palate.
